OneWorld Classrooms

OneWorld Classrooms is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to build bridges of learning and understanding between global K-12 classrooms through the arts and technology. We run an annual K-12 Global Art Exchange, offer curriculum-based global connections through our Classroom Conversations with the World program, and host a free Student to Student Language Lab featuring students in China teaching their global peers Mandarin Chinese.

Student to Student Language Lab

The Student to Student Language Lab is a set of 55 multimedia Mandarin Chinese lessons featuring middle and high school students from various regions of China. The lessons range in proficiency level from Novice-High to Intermediate-High. The resource is free. 

Global Art Exchange

K-12 Global Art Exchange

K-12 students exchange original artwork with their peers in schools around the world and, in some cases, complete follow-up VoiceThread conversations with a partner class. Since 2009, over 32,000 children from 67 countries have directly participated and another 350,000 students have seen program art displays in their schools.

Classroom Connections

Classroom Conversations with the World

Classroom Conversations with the World matches registered classes with a global partner class (or classes) of the same grade range for an asynchronous VoiceThread conversation.  A VoiceThread conversation is a web-based application where media is the center of the conversation. Participating classes explore their curriculum with their global peers. Specific guidelines are provided. Participation fees apply but some free conversations are available to select participants per information found on the Conversations website.
