iEARN-Jordan member of iEARN International
iEARN -international Education And Resources Network, is a non-profit organization made up of over 30,000 schools and youth organizations in more than 130 countries. iEARN empowers teachers and young people to work together online using the Internet and other new communications technologies. Over 2,000,000 students each day are engaged in collaborative project work worldwide.
The vision and purpose of the International Education and Resource Network is to enable young people to undertake projects designed to make a meaningful contribution to the health and welfare of the planet and its people.
Two elements in this statement are at the heart of everything we do: collaborative projects and "making a difference". We focus on Project-Based Learning because we have seen that students will learn better when engaged collaboratively and experientially in projects with peers. This is now possible worldwide through online technologies.
And we are seeking to empower young people with the knowledge and experience that they can indeed affect positive change when they team up and work with others around the planet. Therefore the projects must all demonstrate that the planet will, as a result, be a better place.
iEARN International is registered as an NGO in Spain and has an international office in Callus, Spain.
